Sam: I may want to put my house in Cedar Cove in Reston on the market in a couple months.
I was wondering if you could post a monthly report that will show what homes have been selling for in the neighborhood?
Also, before you do that could you post a link to show me what homes are currently for sale in Cedar Cove as well as those that are under contract?
Steve: Happy to do so Sam. As you know, Cedar Cove is a small cluster where buyers often have to wait for a home to come up for sale.
There is only one home under contract at the moment with none for sale.
Therefore should you decide to sell, you will have mininmal competition.

It is a beautiful neighborhood of 66 garage town houses just off South Lakes Dr in Reston 20191.
Cedar sided and tree shaded, this aesthetic neighborhood has approx. 20% of the residences fronting Lake Audubon. A resort feel, but close to one of the nations top tech centers.
Ted: What schools serve the neighborhood?
Steve: These 3 fine establishments below.

Fred: Is there any shopping close by?
Steve: There are more options for shopping, entertainment and dining near Cedar Cove than you can shake a stick at.
Go out the main entrance, take a right and 3/4 mile up South Lakes will bring you to the South Lakes Village Shopping Center you can find everything for your daily needs.

Reston Town Center is just up the road a couple miles, so all the shopping and dining establishments there are easily at your disposal.
Diane: Cedar Cove sounds good and looks great from these photos. What philosophical advice would you give us regarding your house hunting adventure in Reston?
Steve: Check out the totality of the choices before you, analyze your needs and wants, separate the two, visit as many properties as you need to until you can connect with just the right home for you. It will be almost a spiritual sensation....a 1970’s terminology…you should feel the right “vibe”.
The right real estate agent will understand this and enjoy the hunt as much as you will…do not work with anyone with whom YOU don't also have that “vibe”..... there is no point in that.
....And try to be at peace about the whole process.
