Video: Let's Visit Old Town Fredericksburg VA

Fredericksburg VA is a thriving town of 22,000 residents, 50 miles south of Washington DC and 60 miles north of Richmond.

It has retained the heart, soul and backbone of it's American history, preserved and enhanced its old downtown yet offers all the modern amenities.

Many residents commute to Quantico Marine Base, Ft. Belvoir, the Pentagon and Washington DC by the Virginia Railway Express, and well planned bus routes and car pool arrangements from large commuter lots.

Surrounded by the beautiful Virginia countryside, and bordered by the Rappahannock River, Fredericksburg's gardens come alive in the spring with dogwood, wisteria, red bud and azaleas.

The town played an integral part in both colonial America and in the war between the states, and has worked to retain the best of its past.

Come spend a few days and explore Fredericksburg's shops, museums and Civil War sites.

Relax in the evening with dinner by the river.

What could be better?

Steve, Absolutely love that area.  The history is just SO rich!  Mix in the convenience to DC/Baltimore/Richmond.  Head west for mountains, east for water....very SWEET! :)

A lot of history in this area.  I would love dinner by the river.

Thanks Anita, It's fun showcasing a beautiful community like Fredericksburg!

Bliz, so true! Richmond is an hour away. Colonial Williamsburg 2 hours. Va Beach 3 hours. Mountains? One hour west.

Bill, Heck you have dinner cruises on your bass boat. That's what I want!

Lindsay, Gotta have the right traveling music!

Doug, stop back by...more to come! Neighborhood tour of Cardinal Forest in Fredericksburg and a great new listing video for a home coming to market next week.

Thanks Karen. I love Fredericksburg. Modern yet well preserved historic beauty. It has everything.
